The seventh Retail Fraud conference held on April 20 once again proved a winner by bringing together over 400 retailers and suppliers keen to benefit from the very latest in best practice, products and services designed to reduce fraud and shrinkage.
Whilst our speakers are used to dealing with serious issues, we had not anticipated that an act of God in the shape of an Icelandic volcano would do its up-most to disrupt the day. However, in true Dunkirk spirit our presenters rose to the occasion by doing everything possible to ensure that our delegates did not miss out on the speakers' valuable contributions.
Special thanks must go to Brand Elverson from Walmart who went to his office early and hooked up conference call to deliver his exclusive overview of Walmart's Asset Protection structure and strategy, Steve Hearn, Head of Risk for Jaegar, stepped in for a stranded Simon Hoyle, VP Security and Business Risk, Majid Al Futtaim Group and 192.com's Mahmoud El-Azzeh, Retail Product Specialist replaced and equally stranded Stoney Burke, eBay's US PROACT team. Mike Finch, Head of Asset Protection, Best Buy kindly changed his slot to fit in with changes, thanks Mike, and thanks also to David at 41st parameter for delivering his part of the presentation via video skype at what was an outstanding day.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our speakers who contributed to the day, our exhibitors and of course, our delegates ... and don’t forget to check back again soon when you will find the full presentation videos and slides from the day on this site.
Our next Retail Fraud Show ‘on the Road’ will take place at the Walkers' Stadium in Leicester on October 7, with the flagship London event 14th April 2011 back at the Novotel London West.
Until next time, thank you ...
